Krillin and Gohan, arriving on Namek, are entrusted with Dragon Balls in a village burned by Frieza's troops and gather the orbs with Dende. Vegeta first falls dying to Zarbon, then, revived in a healing tank, overwhelms the transformed Zarbon in return. Flushed with that gap in power, Vegeta bares his rivalry with Frieza. Frieza begins assembling the balls himself, and all seven nearly rest in his hands—until the renowned Ginyu Force lands and seizes every last one. Goku is still inbound from King Kai's planet, and Krillin's group recoils at the Force's battle power. Namek's fate drops into the Ginyu Force's palm, leading straight into the next clash.
